He obviously is not celebrating his 183rd birthday, but many people on the Internet are doing it for him today. This is a great link from National Geographic about eight Jules Verne inventions that came true. I recently reread his novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and maybe in the next few days - to pay tribute to one of the "Fathers of Science Fiction" - I will watch some of the film adaptations that attempt to bring this novel and Verne's imagination to life. I hope you get time to sit down with one of your favourite novels from Verne or at least find the time to sit back and enjoy a film adaptation. February, at least in Canada, is a great month to catch up with old favourites as we patiently wait for warmer weather to arrive with spring.
