Happy Stanton Friedman Day!

Today was recognized as Stanton Friedman Day by the city of Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada in 2007. Stanton Friedman is best known as the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident. He has published numerous books and papers dealing with UFOs and worked as a nuclear physicist for 14 years with companies such as GE, GM and Westinghouse.

I have never been a big UFO buff although I have always enjoyed documentaries about the Roswell Incident, UFO sightings, etc. I have heard Stanton Friedman on the news and have watched him in some documentaries. What always impressed me about Friedman is his balance in his investigations and his critiques of supposed UFO sightings. He does not hesitate in saying whether he thinks something is a hoax or not.

So as you look up into the sky tonight and mistake a satellite for a flying saucer, raise your glass to Stanton Friedman!
